Doubling a Driver Recruitment Funnel Through Organic Search

Client: an electric vehicle ride-hailing client
Scope: technical SEO, content strategy, content production, monthly performance reporting

Challenge

The client had built strong brand recognition in a fast-growing market. People searched for the company by name and found it without difficulty. The next stage of growth depended on reaching a different audience: people still deciding whether driving for an electric fleet was right for them.

That audience searches differently. They ask about eligibility, realistic earnings, how shifts and targets work, and whether a vehicle is provided. Those questions get asked well before anyone types a company name.

The site was already well developed on the passenger side, where the earliest demand had been. Recruitment was the natural next area to build out. A focused set of product pages carried the funnel, local search intent across the company’s operating markets was still open ground, and the page structure on the highest-traffic templates left some ranking signal available to recover.

The opportunity was to give the recruitment side the same depth the passenger side already had.

Approach

We began by isolating the recruitment funnel from consumer brand traffic. Site-wide numbers were driven by passenger demand and would have obscured whether recruitment was actually working. Everything after that was measured against that segment. The work then ran in three tracks:

Content. Mapped the driver decision journey into defined territories and built a production pipeline against it, including local coverage for the markets the company operated in.

Technical. Audited the highest-traffic templates and handed the findings to the client’s engineering side in a form they could act on directly.

Reporting. Same segment, same method, every month, so progress stayed comparable rather than reframed.

Results

Measured over the first three months of the engagement, against the last full month before it began.
  • Organic clicks to the recruitment funnel more than doubled, with the growth rate still climbing at the end of the measurement window.
  • Click-through rate on the primary registration page more than doubled, while average ranking position improved at the same time.
  • Close to half of all funnel clicks now come from pages that did not exist at the start, and the original registration page continued to grow alongside them. The new content added demand rather than shifting it.
  • Funnel coverage expanded from a handful of pages to more than twenty, including an entire city-level category that previously had no presence in search.

Why It Matters

A strong brand is not the same as captured demand. This client ranked well for its own name and still had limited reach among people whose search started with a question rather than a company. The gap was never visibility. It was having something ready to answer the question at the moment it gets asked.

Content built around that gap compounds. It keeps producing after the work stops, it does not reset when a budget cycle ends, and its value accumulates every month it stays live. Paid recruitment does none of those things.

The other lesson is structural. Isolating the funnel before measuring was the difference between a report that proves impact and one that only describes activity. Site-wide traffic would have told a story that had nothing to do with the work.

Metrics generalized to protect client confidentiality.
